This combined event features guest speaker Melanie Barr from AUT, who will explain how local businesses can benefit from AUT’s Cooperative Education programme. To ensure graduates are ready to step straight into their chosen careers, AUT Business School developed this highly successful workplace experience programme, which has become a key point of difference for their degrees.

Melanie will outline how the AUT work placement internship programme operates and how businesses can participate. This programme provides an excellent opportunity for organisations to connect with talented students and contribute to developing the next generation of professionals.

The second part of the event will seek feedback from Penrose businesses on whether we should move towards establishing a BID, or Business Improvement District, for the area. There are currently 50 BIDs operating across Auckland, supporting many of the most successful contributors to the region’s GDP. We welcome your views on whether this approach could benefit Penrose.
