For those affected by flooding, the following links have information on personal and business assistance:

  • Auckland Emergency Management includes latest updates, information about preparing for insurance applications and safety when cleaning up, and you can call them for urgent accommodation assistance and home or building safety assessment, phone 0800 22 22 00.
  • Contact Auckland Council HERE to report flooding, damage to drains or storm water.
  • Visit Work and Income to find out about civil defence payments and help with emergency costs including medical costs, bedding, food, power bills and repairs or replacing appliances.
  • Business.govt.nz has info on looking after your employees, operating safely, insurance claims, finance and banking, buildings and landlord responsibilities in their section Extreme weather: information for businesses. There is also a section on mental health and wellbeing support.
  • The Spinoff lists where to get assistance, and also how to give help, including where to donate food, clothing and bedding.
